Mission
Idea Puzzle was founded on the 26th of March 2008 to help doctoral researchers improve the coherence of a research proposal, article, or thesis in the light of Philosophy of Science (Morais & Brailsford, 2022). Our main initiatives are the Idea Puzzle software, the one-hour free webinar 'Design and defend your PhD with the Idea Puzzle software', and the respective workshop.
Vision
Our vision is to collaborate with universities worldwide. To date, Ricardo Morais has lectured 447 webinars, seminars, and workshops 'Design and defend your PhD with the Idea Puzzle software' in 117 universities from 29 countries. On average, the knowledge imparted was evaluated 9,5 in 10 by 1757 participants (11% response rate).
Lecturer
Ricardo Morais, married and father of three daughters, is Professor of Management at Católica Porto SBE, Director of Idea Puzzle, and Keynote Speaker on Philosophy of Science, Strategic Management, and Design Thinking. Since 2002, he has published more than 40 articles, chapters, and papers about these topics and lectured in 117 universities from 29 countries. From 2013 to 2025, he has coordinated the seminar 'How to design your PhD' at the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) in Brussels, now offered at the University of Ljubljana. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, having graduated in Management from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto. He is also an alumnus of HPI School of Design Thinking in Germany.
